Um, excuse me ma'am

When it comes to my hair I'm cheap.  There.  I said it.  (And you can probably tell)

Whew, now that I got that out of the way I have to tell ya'll about my latest hair saga.

I'm the girl that cuts her hair like 3 times a year and usually goes to Super Cuts.  I know, I'm a disgrace to the womanly race but I rather spend money on other things.  Like chocolate :)

So, I finally bit the bullet the other day and decided to make a hair appointment with a really nice salon here in town.  A friend here has been going to this particular lady for a while, and kept encouraging me to go see her.

First of all I call to make the appointment and I CAN NOT hear the receptionist.  I should have taken that as an omen and hung up.  But I proceeded.

I show up and the hair stylist did not ask me anything.  She had me sit down and I told her that I wanted my hair layered and colored.  I showed her my "inspiration" and she looked at me like I had three heads.

Look lady.  I want a dark brownish red color.  Not a pink mohawk.  I could tell she hated the pic and made it known that she didn't agree with what I wanted.  SHE decided she was going to use her color preference since I didn't know what I needed basically.

Then we got to talking about how bad winters are here and that I should get someone to chauver me around the snow.  Sure, I'll get right on that.  As if I don't get 6,675 people warning me about snow.  Jeez, is it really that bad?  Will I need to shovel my way out of my house everyday?

Anways...

I was tense the entire time and needless to say it wasn't the best time I've ever had.

When I went to check out she told me the total, kinda paused and asked if that was ok???  I mean, are you charging me extra?  Is that not what you charge normally?

In the end, she did a good job but I don't think I'll be making a visit over there any time soon.  Too annoying to pay 85+ bucks ya know?

Shoulda gone to Super Cuts.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend!!

Chicago funsies

Josh and I journeyed over to Chicago this weekend to the International Museum of Surgical Science.  Nerd alert, I know!  We usually take the train, but J decided to drive, (brave soul) because you couldn't pay me to drive downtown Chicago.

Love looking at all of the cute houses in our future neighborhood.  Only a few million dollars standing        in our way :).

                                                                 The surgical museum!

These lozenges cured everything from anxiety to nausea!

Please disregard my eyes being closed :)

There's a  "Lsu/Saints" bar around Wicker Park called Standard Bar and Grill, so we had to check it out Saturday.  We got there at 2:30 (when the game started) = big ole fail.  The place was PACKED.  It was pretty amazing, but I'm sorry I'm not gonna stand for 3 + hours, so we decided to grab bbq and keep up with the score on our phones.  We plan on going back this upcoming weekend for the game, but will def get there early!!

The BBQ was awesome, and our waitress was actually from New Orleans!  Small world right?

                                                                Happy Tuesday!

Fun with phones Monday!

Another fun link up with Savanah!  Love this one!

My dad was in Michigan this past week for a conference, so I was ecstatic to be able to meet up with him Friday night in a cute little town called Brenton Harbor.

When Josh and I decided to meet my dad there we had no idea how cute this little town was!  It's right on Lake Michigan. Totally precious!  I want to live there now :).

Here are a few pics from our trip:

After we ate dinner, we saw my dad off and J and I headed to "The Livery".  It's a really cool bar with a jazz band that plays every Friday.

Oh. My. Word.
Josh and I recently discovered Culver's, and I'm scared for myself.  My ice cream was 10x better than my normal Dairy Queen blizzard.  Yum!

My dog thinks he is a cat :)

Happy Monday ya'll!

Wednesday loves!!!

Some Skyline love!

There is just something about skylines that are so swoonworthy for me.  I'm not sure what compels me to be so fascinated, but I am.  I've always been this way, and in my room growing up would have skyline posters all over my walls.

Seeing a skyline kinda gives me a feeling of being a part of something bigger in this world.  I know, that sounds cray cray.

Skylines are so romantic to me.  :Sigh:

I'm trying to convince J to rent a loft for the night in Chicago (with an amazing view) so we can sit on the sofa, drink wine, and just "be".

Here's to hoping!

Vacation mon!

Josh and I have been tossing around ideas of where we want to go for our vacation/anniversary early next year, and can't decide (surprise, surprise!).  We literally are the two most indecisive people that have ever lived.

                                                 Ideas we've thought of:

  1. Mexico (we went for our honeymoon and loved it!)
  2. Dominican Republic
  3. New Orleans (two for one deal.  Family and vaca!)
  4. Skiing
  5. Las Vegas
  6. Puerto Rico (Bacardi factory, yes!!)
                             Decisions, decisions people!

We're leaning towards the beach considering it will be like -45 degrees in February here.  Although we both have yet to go snow skiing so we shall see!  Can we go one more than one?   :)

We have been to so many great places over the four years we have been together, and look forward to many more!

Tropical drinks are a must!

That could so be me!

Honeymooning in Mexico

We made so much fun of that "rock sculpture" or whatever it was.  It rotated and glowed different colors ha!

Las Vegas with the hubs

We stayed at the Hard Rock and it was fantastic!  It had such a "cool vibe" and it was gorgeous.

SKIING

So clearly bunk beds wouldn't be ideal, but I thought this was a cute and cozy picture so pretend the bunk bed is a king sized bed!

Whatever we decide on I know it will be amazing!  Vacations are a must!
