24 weeks

How far along? 24 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 20 lbs

Maternity clothes? I finally caved and bought a pair of jeans and two pair of leggings from Motherhood Maternity.  I have no idea why I waited so long and have a feeling I will be using these after the baby too.  Still living in my Target long and lean tanks that I adore and sticking mostly to dresses/leggings.  Last night I busted out a pair of Josh's sweat pants.  He won't be getting those back until after the baby. ;)

Stretch marks? No new ones.  I do have a few on my hips from years ago.  I am in the minority and have not used any creams, so I can't complain if I wind up with a few stretchies :).

Sleep:  Until last night sleep has been great other than the bathroom breaks, but I woke up several times with the sorest hips ever!  Ouch, is all I have to say.  With me using my body pillow sleeping quarters are tight!  Poor Josh, he probably sleeps halfway off the bed.

Best moment this week: Definitely all of the movement.  I've been able to see baby kick from the outside which just fascinates me every time.  Also, hearing the heartbeat and baby kicking the Dr. this morning was pretty cute.

Miss Anything? I should just copy and paste this answer, but definitely wine!

Movement: The flutters and pokes are distinct kicks and jabs now.  Sometimes I think I can feel him doing cartwheels.

Food cravings: Sweets, pineapple, watermelon, peaches, fries

Anything making you queasy or sick?: No. I'm feeling great!

Have you started to show yet: Yes!  Strangers have started to comment.  I still question if people can tell, and Josh laughs and says "definitely" lol.

Gender: Boy!!!

Belly Button in or out? It looks straight crazy.  It's half out and half flat at this point.  Which probably makes absolutely no sense but trust me it's.....different.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Very happy mixed with moments of road rage from time to time.

Looking forward to: Seeing the baby again and just enjoying the pregnancy as much as possible.

                                                  Happenings as of late:

  • Josh and I had a good time registering at Babies R Us two weeks ago.  He was very excited to use the "gun" and went a little crazy.  Needless to say when we got home I did a bit of revising.

  • We took a road trip to Ohio to visit Josh's brother, sis in law, and there little cutie Lincoln.  She's pregnant too so it's fun comparing and being pregnant together.  She's due about a month after us.  Not only is she pregnant, but we have another sister in law that is due in February so I guess we all drank the water.  So fun!!

  • After agonizing over strollers, we finally decided on getting the Britax Agile travel system and then a BOB jogging stroller.  Our BOB came yesterday so J and I were playing with it all around the house.

  • The packing for Texas has begun.  Yay for moving across country again.  I think we could move in our sleep!  I know everything will work out, but I'm a bit nervous about finding a new doc in Texas so late in the pregnancy.

I broke down and bought a few goodies. The picture on the left are clothes I ordered off of H&M and  the picture on the right are clothes from Burlington/Marshalls.  I bought various sizes ranging from newborn to 9 mos.  So fun!!

It's a......

BOY!!

(21 weeks)

We are over the moon for our little boy!!  My first trimester I thought it was a boy.  Then the last few weeks before we found out, Josh had a dream that it was a little girl, and not long after that I had the same dream so we both thought maybe it was a girl.  People kept asking which would we prefer and honestly there was no preference.  Just a healthy baby.

(My mom came to town to share the special moment of seeing our little one on the big screen and having a girl's weekend!  So thankful for her.  I would have posted pictures of her but she hates having her picture taken. I joke that I will have to photoshop her face with our child LOL.)

At the appointment, without question before the tech was able to tell us we knew 100% it was a little prince!!  Let's just say our cutie was not shy. ;) He was moving like a crazy man and had a case of the hiccups! So cute.  Josh couldn't believe how much he was moving.

Overall, it was such a special day telling everyone we loved about our baby and scoping out some baby gear.  We hit up all of the biggies (Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby, boutiques, Target, etc. etc.).  Crazy enough, we didn't buy anything while we were out.  I was so overwhelmed I think that if I bought one thing that it would turn into a cart of goodies so I held off.  It was fun though trying out strollers, looking at clothes, etc. Even Josh got into it!

What a stud!

Anyways....

Ever since we found out, we've been on cloud nine.  Little one, you are so loved!

Baby's first outfit from his Mimi!! (Josh's mom)

Josh and I plan to start registering and getting a few things this weekend, so that should be fun!

Here are a few random pics I thought were cute...

(I bribed my mom to take a pic with Huck ;))

20 weeks

Josh and I cracked up over the picture above.  (In pictures with other people I think it looks good, just for me I feel so silly.) It's a running joke back from when we took our engagement pics.  The photographer LOVED him some "looking down/pondering life" pictures so like half of them are of us  looking at the ground.  Although now at least I have something to look at other than the ground ;).  So Josh made me take this one.

Pregnancy Tidbits:

How far along? 20 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 10 lbs

Maternity clothes? Other than a few tanks from Target and a belly band I'm living in maxi dresses/skirts for now.

Stretch marks? I have a few on my hips but they were there before baby.  So no, not from pregnancy at least.

Sleep: Pretty decent considering I wake up 4 times a night to pee.  I get a little uncomfortable at times so I will be investing in a body pillow asap.

Best moment this week: Feeling the baby more and more.  Love it!

Miss Anything? Wine.  What is new? :)  Oh, and the extra caffeine I can't have other than my one cup a day now.

Movement: I feel him/her the most at night and it's just little pokes right now.  I feel them all over my lower abdomen.

Food cravings: Lemons, peaches, sweets, chips, jalapenos?? weird.  I have never eaten a jalapeno in my life. I discovered my love for them when I ordered some nachos at a Cubs game recently.  So good together.  Who knew??

Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nope

Have you started to show yet: To people I know definitely.  To strangers I'm not really sure.  Something is definitely there though!

Gender: We will see!!!

Belly Button in or out? It's basically flat at this point.

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY!!

Looking forward to: Friday and seeing my mom!

....ANNNND a couple of embarrassing moments...

*I keep a hidden bag of my favorite cookies in the back of the pantry for after Josh goes to bed! Don't worry, he has some ice cream/snacks if he wants anything sweet.  If you're reading this sorry babe!  I am NOT proud of this.  I repeat NOT proud.

*For the first time in my life I almost ran out of gas.  I am usually the crazy person that fills up if my tank is anywhere near 1/4 of a tank left.  The other morning I drove up to Target, looked down to see I had approximately zero miles left.  I freaked thinking I was taking a ride with Mr. Tow Truck man but thankfully I made it to the gas station.  This whole situation was so weird to me.  Can I just blame this on "pregnancy brain"??

Randoms for the week

**I've been eyeing Tracy Anderson's "Pregnancy Project" for awhile now and just need to get it.  I've been getting back into working out finally since getting pregnant, and her DVD looks interesting.

**We go for our anatomy scan Friday, and I'm starting to get nervous/anxious.  Can't wait to see the little one on the screen.  My mom is spending the weekend with us from Louisiana so it will be a great weekend.

**It has been HEAVEN outside.  I wore LONGSLEEVES today. One of the few things I will miss about Indiana.

**Sleeping has started to get a little uncomfortable nowadays.  Need to go and buy a body pillow asap.

**I'm FINALLY starting to feel baby a bit more.  Or at least I think it's the baby.  He/she is most active at night.  Josh tried putting his hand on my belly to feel...so cute.  Give it a few more weeks Josh. ;)

**I have house/yard envy like a mother.  Josh and I both are wanting to rent/buy so badly when we make the move.  Third floor apartments are not fun.

**I've been on a nail polish kick lately.  I've recently added three new colors to the mix.

1.  "Nice is Nice"

                                                                                2.  "Pink-a-boo"

                                                                                 3. Set in Stones

**Had to post a bump pic!  Halfway there!!  Thank you stretchy skirts/dresses.  I'm going to have to bite the bullet this weekend and venture into shopping for a pair of jeans.

Kids say the darndest things...

I came across this article and had to share because I was cracking up so hard.  I can totally see my future child doing some of these...

"21 Kids Who Sold Out Their Parents"

                                                                       full article

Here are a few of my favorites!  Enjoy!

*** The well-meaning daughter who was asked to write a sentence about her mom’s hobbies.

***    The boy who defies his mother’s wishes even if it ends up hurting him.

*** The future criminal mastermind who fooled her parents with a forged note from her kindergarten teacher.

***The young girl who felt that honesty was more important than tact.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

    1. This little bump!  Can't wait to find out if you're a boy or a girl, little one!  Only 9 more days...

 2. My boys

This kinda goes without saying, but I can't help but post pictures of these two cuties.

3.  Benefit's "They're Real!"

4.  I'm loving these Ello glass containers.  I found this at Meijer's yesterday and it jumped in my cart.    The prettier the bottle = the more water I drink ;)

5.  Erin Condren's Life Planner

I finally caved after loving on this planner for forever so I splurged and finally gave in.

Dear Erin, get it together.  It's been like 234 weeks.  I can only assume at this point that you are hand painting every page in the planner.

I'll be expecting you in the mail any day now.

6. Organized Like Jen on Youtube

I have no idea how I came across her channel but super organized people are like unicorns to me.

FASCINATING lol.

The organization gene skipped me and people like this woman are so interesting to me.

Now I want to organize my sock drawer.  Just kidding.

        https://www.youtube.com/user/organizedlikejen

 She cracks me up.

7.  Honest KIDS juice

http://www.honesttea.com/kids/

Yes, I am five.  These things are pretty good.  I'm trying to stay away from my beloved 5 cups of coffee/diet coke since getting pregnant, so I'm always on the look out for healthier drinks other than water.

I've linked up with today What I'm loving Wednesday!  Thanks Jamie!!

Workity work work

This weekend was my weekend to work, so I spent my Friday and Saturday night at the hospital.  It turned out to be a good two nights though with great patients and great co-workers.  Last night the ladies threw a mini going away/baby shower for me. Combine food, people, and a sweet card, bear, and gift card and I was a happy girl.  Next week is my last week and I can definitely say it's bittersweet.  My co-workers joke that they turned me from a sweet southern belle to a crazy person just like them over the last two years. haha!  They welcomed me with open arms to their "dark side"!  They have seen me at my best and my worst and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I squeezed in a haircut and some cuddle time with my boys the remainder of my weekend and all in all it was a good one.  Here are just a few snapshots from my phone I put together from this weekend.

Linking up with Sami today!

Hope you guys had a great weekend too!

Summer favorites

So, TLC's "A Baby Story" has never exactly been on my DVR list until lately.  I'm not sure whether to be excited or nervous (or both) about giving birth after watching this show (thank you TLC for playing 2 million episodes on a daily basis).  Gah, I cannot get through an episode without tearing up. So sweet.  Good stuff.

~Skirt from Old Navy                                      ~Skirt from Windsor                           ~Dress from Meijer(random!)

I'm loving long skirts/maxi dresses.  With my growing belly, I have a feeling these will be part of my "uniform" for the summer.  So comfortable.

I went to Target today and saw these lovelies and had to bring them home!  The pink pair were on sale for $8 so it was a no brainer.  I'm loving the wedges too.  Cute for date night.

Target's Liz Lange long and lean tanks

I cannot say enough how much I love these tanks.  I have at least 5 of them and wore them even before I got pregnant.  They are super long and so soft.  LOVE.

I've never been a huge lipstick person but love this by Maybelline.  If lipstick and chap stick got together it would totally make this.  Basically it's a tinted chap stick.  So pretty.

And last but not least, ice cream dates. Toddy dates have now been replaced with ice cream dates.  This past weekend we swung by and I got chocolate with peanut butter cups and Josh got cotton candy and pina colada???  I thought I was the pregnant one.

vacation

Josh and I went with another couple down to Mexico this past spring for some relaxation and virgin pina coladas (for me anyway).

We found out I was pregnant a week before we were scheduled to leave and I was kinda nervous about telling our friends going with us.  I know it shouldn't matter, but I was worried that it would be awkward me being the only one not drinking at an all inclusive resort.

It was totally fine, and we all had a blast!  Here are a few pictures I took on our little vacation!  I'm working on taking more pics because I seriously lack in that department.

*My first "belly pic" lol!  I was 5/6 weeks there.
It totally looks like I don't shave my arm pits in that picture....I promise I do!! :)

**Yummy food and virgin daiquiris! :)
Baby's first Mexico trip was a success, and may be our last vacation for awhile so we definitely enjoyed!!

Oh baby!

Well..since I'm pregnant, quitting my job,  and moving across the country AGAIN, I figured I might as well document all this craziness Josh and I are about to start in the next few months.

                                                                  Surprise!!!

I mean, who doesn't want to be almost 7 months pregnant by the time we move this fall??? I totally do.

I love looking at all of the pregnancy blogs/mommy blogs and definitely want to join in on the fun.  I bought a book to document this pregnancy, but I think I'd rather post here. :)

I am currently 17 weeks pregnant, and am due early this December!

Josh found out that we will be transferring to Texas late summer/early fall, so we've both been in "moving mode".  I've been frantically planning where we're going to live, pregnancy stuff, all kinds of craziness.  We're both happy about this move since he's from TX and will be closer to family but it's kind of bittersweet.

Is this your first pregnancy: Yes
When did you find out you were pregnant: April 1, 2013....April fools bfp!
Was it planned: Yes.  Well, for the most part. Josh and I decided we wanted to start this spring after our vacation with friends in April.  It happened a little sooner than we both thought, but are both ecstatic!
Who was with you when you found out: I was by myself.  I didn't believe it at first.  Took a few more tests and a digital to confirm. :)
Who was the first person you told: I told Josh and my mom at the same time.
How did your parents react: Happy!!
How far along are you: 17 weeks, 18 this Friday
What was your first symptom: cramping mostly.  Oh, and waking up at 5 in the morning dying for a lemonade.  I wound up driving to the nearest fast food restaurant and almost threw a fit because they weren't open for another hour. Yes, total brat move.

What is your due date: December 4, 2013
Do you know the sex of the baby: Nope!  We find out at the end of July!

Have you picked out names: Perhaps.  Josh has already decided on both boy/girl names.  I'll have the final say though ;). We shall see.

How much weight have you gained: About 8lbs.  I like cookies. A lot.

Symptoms: I finally am starting to feel better!  I wanted to text Josh yesterday that I feel like I'm "high on life".  I have so much more energy and don't feel hung over like I was all throughout the first trimester.

Feeling: Really good!
Food cravings: Sweets, citrus, chocolate milk, the world.
What I miss: WINE lol.

We finally find out the sex of the baby July 26th, my mom is spending the weekend for some fun shopping and girl time!
